Our Commitment: Lesson Lasso wants its tools to be usable by every teacher and student, including people with disabilities. We are not all the way there yet. This statement describes honestly where we stand today, what we know is not yet right, and how to tell us about barriers you encounter.
1. Conformance Status
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Lesson Lasso is currently Partially Conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA: some parts of the site do not yet fully meet the standard.
2. What We Have in Place
- Semantic HTML structure with headings and labelled navigation on our main pages
- Responsive layouts that work on desktop and mobile screen sizes
- Text alternatives on meaningful images on our main pages
- No flashing or strobing content anywhere on the site
- Automated accessibility scans (axe-core) run against our key pages, with fixes applied as issues are found
3. Known Limitations
The following issues exist today. We list them so you can decide how the site will work for you, and so you can hold us to fixing them:
- Color contrast: some text and interface elements on our pages (including the landing page, tools page, pricing page, and this page) do not yet meet the WCAG minimum contrast ratios.
- No skip links: there is currently no "skip to main content" link, so keyboard users must tab through navigation on each page.
- Form labels: a small number of form controls are missing programmatic labels.
- Screen readers: we have not yet performed systematic manual testing with screen readers (such as NVDA, JAWS, or VoiceOver), so screen reader users may encounter unlabelled or awkward interactions, particularly in the more complex classroom tools.
- Automated testing only: our accessibility checks so far have been automated scans. Automated tools cannot catch every barrier, so issues beyond those listed here likely exist.
4. What We Are Working Toward
- Fixing the known color contrast and form label issues
- Adding skip links and improving keyboard navigation
- Manual screen reader testing of the core teacher and student journeys, then fixing what we find
- Considering accessibility in every new feature we build
5. Feedback and Assistance
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on Lesson Lasso, or need help using any part of the site, please tell us — your reports directly shape what we fix next:
6. Assessment Approach
This statement is based on automated accessibility scans of our key pages using axe-core, performed in June 2026. We have not yet had a third-party accessibility audit.
7. Updates to This Statement
We will update this statement as we fix the limitations above or discover new ones. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
